Philippians 2:12-18

Do Everything Without Grumbling

Keep in mind- this is for the whole church. Look at this as a group admonition, not an individual charge.
“God’s Therefore” – V9

Therefore to the believers at Philippi V12
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

What do these verses tell us about the resources we have to work out our salvation?

Command - to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose
What can we as a church do to obey this command?

Why fear and trembling?

What are some of the reasons people grumble or complain?
How does grumbling usually help?
Can grumbling help us (as a body) “fulfill His good purpose”?
What would this letter have been like if Paul had grumbled through it rather than rejoicing?
How would it help us to replace grumbling with gladness and rejoicing?
